It's time to take football back...
Adrian Peterson's recent Yahoo Sports interview :
It's modern-day slavery, you know? People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money … the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money. I understand that; these are business-minded people. Of course this is what they are going to want to do. I understand that; it's how they got to where they are now. But as players, we have to stand our ground and say, 'Hey — without us, there's no football.'

Wrong Adrian Peterson. Without the fans there's no NFL. Fans willing to dress like idiots and brave ridiculous weather extremes to overpay for the privilege of cheering on a group of spoiled, ungrateful (near) criminals. A.P., Go ask 2 time NFL MVP Kurt Warner how his quick release and accuracy were compensated when he was stacking groceries at the Hy-Vee. It was $5.50 an hour - a shade less than the $10+ million you are scheduled to earn this year...
I think the players can probably save their season by taking a pay cut to $4 instead of $4.5 billion; and the owners can continue to hold their cities ransom by threatening to move their franchises unless the public coffers are emptied to build more luxury boxes; but if you're looking for me on Sundays I'll be out playing football.
